About the role:
At Innodata, we’re working with the world’s largest technology companies to develop the next generation of AI and large language models (LLMs). We’re looking for an experienced and innovation-minded Team Lead who thrives supervising a dynamic, complex, and global program.
You’ll work hands-on at the leading edge of natural language understanding, computer vision, and human/AI-in-the-loop workflows. You’ll work cross-functionally to engage with Program Managers, training & quality managers, and language specialists to deliver high quality data services across multiple languages and workstreams. You will manage a group of annotators and be their primary point of contact for all parts of their day to day. Through your experience, you will have an opportunity to improve processes and help build policy to improve efficiency in your area of the project. You’ll collaborate with data annotators, project/program managers, and other specialists to help ensure we deliver top quality data and service to our customers.
You'll own managing daily metrics, onboarding, and regular communication for our North America-based annotation group. You’ll apply your critical thinking skills to investigate issues and solve problems. You’ll leverage the knowledge of your area of the business to provide daily and weekly updates to the rest of the internal team.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Team Lead, you will be joining a truly global team of subject matter experts across a wide variety of disciplines and will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities. We’re seeking self-motivated, independent, and hands-on professional who enjoys both liaising with the direct team and collaborating with additional stakeholders.
In this position, you’ll manage the overall performance for a portion of the projects, manage the day-to-day operations in accordance with the requirements of the Service Level Agreements (SLAs), promptly identify and resolve issues brought up by annotation workers and internal stakeholders.
As a key team member, you’re to provide exceptional metrics management, communication, and collaboration to achieve low attrition levels and annotator engagement. Flag and escalate business risks to internal stake holders.
Below are some responsibilities and tasks of our Team Lead role:
- Leading small-to-medium project deployment for limited markets in collaboration with the Total Quality Management (TQM) teams and Project/Program managers.
- Supporting total customer satisfaction.
- Supporting all strategies, processes and initiatives of TQM teams and promote collaboration of all Operations leaders as needed. Playing an active role in improving policies, processes, and support systems by providing insights and offering suggestions including feedback from the teams.
- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting of all SLAs required for your set of markets and ensuring achievement of KPIs.
- Collaborating with the support teams, action project and process kick-offs, monitor and report project/process/initiative status for your projects.
- Overseeing onboarding to client platforms and adherence to KPIs. Ensuring adherence to mutual goals from TQM teams.
- Manage rosters, identifying where additional resources may be needed, and alerting internal stakeholders to potential issues.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues affecting project delivery and escalate as needed.
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices and organizational policies.
Job requirements
What we need you to bring:
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and semantics
- Advanced degree in Simplified Chinese and English
- Bachelor’s degree (completed) is the minimum requirement; Master’s or PhD preferred
- Ability to edit and improve technical communication across a wide variety of technical fields

The salary range for this position is between CAD $55,000 to $65,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
